Volunteering at Waldo County Transportation Program

Waldo County Transportation Program needs volunteers to assist in the office, transporting clients, riding with other drivers as an attendant, fundraising and marketing the program's services. Volunteers provide a valuable support service to our community. Uplifting families is a rewarding part of community action. Our community action agency works to improve the quality of life for Waldo County residents.
Volunteer Driving: Citizen participation is an essential element and goal of our volunteer driver program. By contributing as little as four hours per week, we can work towards making transportation accessible to all Waldo Country residents. Duties include: Picking up and discharging passengers to trip assignments while maintaining safety of yourself and passengers. Office Work: Copying and assembling information packets, filing, and making telephone calls for special
projects.
Fundraising Participation: Assisting and organizing program events such as the Annual Transportation Auction.
Bus Attendants: Assist bus passengers with boarding, safety belt securement, loading and unloading parcels.
General Maintenance: Clean buses and vans, clean and decorate office.
Outreach Services: Making telephone calls to WCTP clients to assess the quality of transportation services delivered, inform clients of available services and provide assistance with filling out transportation reimbursement forms.
